Illustrated website about running

After learning the theory in the modul «Data Visualisation» I had the task to visualize data about a subject of my choice. I decided to create an illustrated website which shows the risks and benefits of running. Even if everyone can buy runnig shoes and start running, there are a few things beginners should know.

How I chose the subject

I decided to do a visualisation on a topic I'm already familiar with and am passionate about. I chose running because I'm a runner myself and have learned a lot about running over the years. During a quick online research I found plenty of information and data about the risks and benefits of this sport. I already had a few illustrations in mind.

Design challenge

An illustrated and interactive website for people who start running and want to know the risks and benefits of this sport.

Data sources and illustration style

I found good structured text, videos, and images on the website of a health insurance company, which I used as a base for my illustrations. To define the illustration style, I searched for inspiring designs on pinterest and made a moodboard.

Interactions and prototyping

My goal was to make the website simple and allow the user to explore it on their own, instead of showing all the information at once.
